As a person living and working in Toronto, Canada, my oasis of serenity in this urban jungle has got to be Elmwood spa located on 18th Elm Street in the heart of downtown Toronto. The first time I stumbled upon this gem is when I went to meet up at a Thai restaurant called Bangkok Gardens which is just adjacent the spa. I have been to various spas in town but I settled for Elmwood because of the wide variety of service I get to choose from as well as well as the warm and cordial welcome my friends and always get when we congregate there every Friday. Elmwood spa offers various top-class facilities such as the whirlpools, its 34 treatment rooms, two restaurants and wonderfully designed steam rooms but five reasons set it apart from other spas I have been to for me. I will go on to put forward all the reasons why Elmwood is my spa of choice and why have decided to make it my domicile every Friday afternoon.

World Class Service.

Apart from the beautiful historical fired brick building that house which I personally consider an architectural masterpiece, the moment you first walk up the stair into the main lobby you are greeted by a beautiful ambiance and a polite and friendly receptionist who answers all your questions and takes care of your concerns making you feel appreciated. This is very important for me since I feel all the other spas I have been to have not given such special attention to my needs.

The Juice Bar.

I am a huge fan of freshly squeezed juice and smoothies and this is the one spot me and my friends like to chill out as we catch on the latest in our lives. They also offer an array of, made-to-order sandwiches and energy bars to choose from, either which can eat right there or take home. This is a feature which I believe is one of kind and which is not offered by many Canadian spas.

Fulfilling Water Therapies.

Elmwood spas offer three water therapies, namely; a swimming pool, steam rooms and whirlpools all of which I have tried and found to be superb although they are a bit small but that’s an issue they are working on. There are steam rooms in both the men’s and women’s changing room which I never fail to frequent each time am there.

Lunch In Robes

Another impressive feature at Elmwood spa is their restaurants which are artistically designed spacious and have unbelievable décor. The icing on the cake is that you don’t need to change in order to visit the restaurant, you can just wrap yourself in a robe and go have your lunch. This is a completely exquisite experience that is I have not seen in other Canadian spas.

Massages To Die For.

I have always found massages in our Canadian massage spas wanting to a certain degree but the experience I get from the massage attendants at Elmwood spa are absolutely amazing they are the most skilled I have come across and the use of hot towels in the procedures makes me experience relaxation in the next level. That combined with the one hour facial which includes a scalp and foot massage is just royalty. I can’t wait for Friday to go back to this oasis of serenity in the heart of downtown Toronto.
